Honeymoon

It was not easy to be father of the bride in ancient Babylon. Around 2000 B.C. it was the responsibility of the father of the bride in Babylon to supply the groom with constant supply of 'mead' - a honey beer for one month after the wedding. Since they followed a lunar calender, this one month was called 'honey month'. Today's honeymoon is actually a leftover of that tradition. It's a different matter that the responsibility of the father of the bride has changed. Wish, I was in Babylon in 2000 B.C.
